Free Wireless Internet in the Commons

Third Place Commons and the King County Library System have teamed up to bring you free wireless internet. Send an email, keep an eye on your eBay auctions, or just sit back and surf the web, all from the comfort of Third Place Commons.

Wireless Internet access uses radio frequency signals to exchange information between your computer and the Internet. No cables are required. All you need is a laptop computerwith WiFi capability.

The KCLS/TPB network uses industry standard 802.11b wireless networking equipment. Neither KCLS nor Third Place Books can guarantee the compatibility of your wireless equipment and the KCLS/TPB network.

While the network should not be used for trasmitting sensitive data (credit card or bank account information) the KCLS/TPB network is perfect forsurfing the web, checking sports scores, reading the news, or checking your email.

Remember, anything wireless is inherently less secure than anything with wires.
